Why are the dosages so high?

At first glance, a dose of 20 mg of zinc may seem high when considering that the recommended daily allowance is only 10 mg. Many supplement brands also use these dosages. Instructions for use

Take 3 capsules daily, preferably after a meal with a glass of water. Store in a dry and cool place (15-25°C), protected from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of young children.
